Outbuildings & Terraces

Due to site access restrictions the first terrace to be built was the East terrace. The technical plant is housed below this terrace as well as a water tank with 50,000 litre capacity for rain water run off from the roofs and the terraces this is redistributed for irrigation of the gardens.

In 2004 an annex was built over the remains of the old animal stall enabling us to live on site for the first time. The last area to be built was the pool at the top of the ridge, it is heated by solar panels which extend its operational season.

The unifying materials of all outbuildings and terraces was the loose local stone used as a facing material which we acquired through barter with the local farmers who put aside mounds of loose stone while ploughing.
